"My Lord is a Stone"《我家君王是石头》Chapter 73
Consort Shu’s expression changed drastically, all of a
sudden she kneeled kowtowing to Zhao Jin Yu, she said, “Niangniang, it’s my fault, don’t blame Zhaoyang princess.”
Following which she pulled on Zhaoyang princess, saying, “Why aren’t you
kowtowing to niangniang to admit
you’re wrong?”
Zhaoyang princess Wan Er felt somewhat hurt by consort Shu’s
tugging, but she didn’t dare cry out in pain, stumbling into a kneel,
nevertheless some stubbornness lingered on her little face…, after all she was
a princess, even though she had lost her mother very early on, but she was the
only child of the emperor, naturally she was beyond respected, she had her own
arrogance and reservation, that’s why she did not look apologetic.
Consort Shu raising her head saw Zhao Jin Yu’s frowning
face, her heart sank, and seeing Zhaoyang princess’s stubborn appearance she
felt a burst of anger, she firmly pushed Zhaoyang princess, both urgent and
angry she shouted, “Zhaoyang princess, what are you actually doing? That Fengxi palace is the residence of the
empress, you a princess actually want to remain there? Aren’t you usually very
obedient, why are you so unruly today?”
Zhaoyang princess bit her lip, looking as if was about to
cry, but she still knelt with her back straight motionlessly.
Consort Shu overflowed with anger, saying, “Quickly
apologise to the empress, or else…” grieve rose somewhat in Consort Shu’s mind,
she said, “You don’t want to see me in the future.” If His Majesty the emperor
found out about this surely he would not forgive her.
Zhaoyang princess went pale in panic, looking at consort Shu
with hazy tear filled eyes she said, “Auntie, I’m not…, don’t leave, I’ll be
good, I don’t want the swing, and don’t want balsams…”
Zhao Jin Yu hearing this was very sad, stepping forward to
help Zhaoyang princess up, saying, “I’m not angry, it’s only a place to live, I’m
doing well living in Xihua palace
right now, I won’t move to Fengxi palace.”
Zhaoyang princess stared wide eyed, looking incredulous, she
said, “Really?”
Zhao Jin Yu smiled, nodding she said, “I’m your imperial
mother, naturally I honour my word.” In fact to her, where she lived wasn’t an
issue, the most important was where the emperor was.
Zhaoyang princess delightfully ran in front of consort Shu,
reaching out to pull her up, she said, “Auntie, did you hear?”
Consort Shu frantically and still in doubt looked at Zhao
Jin Yu, as if she didn’t dare to believe it at all.
Zhao Jin Yu showed her a good-natured smile, nodding she
said, “Rise, it’s not a big problem.”
“But, niangniang…”
“Zhaoyang princess is so frank and adorable like this, I
actually really like it, what’s more moving around is troublesome, it’s better
for everyone to not switch places.” Following which seeing consort Shu still
not willing to get up, she stepped forward personally to pull on her shoulder,
saying, “You don’t need to be so ill at ease with me.”
Consort Shu was blankly helped to sit on a chair to one side
by Zhao Jin Yu, immediately a maid came to pour a cup of almond tea for her,
Zhao Jin Yu gently smiled, saying, “This was just made this morning, try it.”
Then to Zhaoyang princess Wan Er who insisted to stand by consort Shu’s side
she said, “You also try it, its sweet, very tasty.”
Zhaoyang princess childishly wiped the tear stains on her
face with her sleeves, saying, “I know, I also like to drink almond tea.” Her
pair of glistening eyes, having just cried her eyes were like a black gem
soaked in water, pure and transparent, Zhao Jin Yu’s heart softened seeing
them, thinking a child’s mood can change so rapidly, she was weeping endlessly
a moment ago, now she was smiling so adorably.
“Then drink a bit more.” Zhao Jin Yu finally couldn’t help
tenderly stroke Zhaoyang princess’s head.
Zhaoyang princess shyly evaded her, appearing rather happy,
bouncing over to consort Shu, a face filled with expectation she said,
“Auntie…, consort Shu, drink.” Zhaoyang princess knew not to call her auntie in
front of others, that’s why she looked at Zhao Jin Yu slightly scared.
Zhao Jin Yu smiled at her encouragingly, thinking to
herself, such a considerate child, if her and the emperor were to have a child
what would they be like? Would they be as adorable as Zhaoyang princess? Ought
to right…, her appearance wasn’t bad, furthermore the emperor was abundant in
handsomeness, the two people’s child inevitably would be very pretty.
Only it would be good if their personality wasn’t like the
emperor’s, too violent.
Zhao Jin Yu once again reassured consort Shu, eventually in
the end dispelling consort Shu’s intentions to move, actually she also didn’t
want to move, because to be frank, she served Zhaoyang princess, to her,
nothing was more important than Zhaoyang princess’s happiness.
However consort Shu still very earnestly gave thanks to Zhao
Jin Yu with Zhaoyang princess, because this matter was sorted harmonious
between the three of them, even though Zhaoyang princess constantly stuck
around consort Shu, but her eyes were fixed on Zhao Jin Yu, seeming to be
filled with curiosity towards her.
Jin Yu entered from outside, holding a goldfish kite in her
hand, the goldfish had two beautiful
tails…, swaying in a beautiful arc in the
air.
Zhaoyang princess stared straight ahead, pursing her lips,
she asked rather incredulously, “This is a
kite?”
Zhao Jin Yu was amused by Zhaoyang princess’s frankness, she
nodded saying, “Yes, didn’t you say you want to fly a kite last time?” Zhao Jin
Yu said glancing at consort Shu, seeing her tense as usual, as if afraid of
Zhao Jin Yu being angry, she sighed in her mind, wondering how consort Shu had
previously lived her life? How can she be so frightened? This however didn’t
show on her face at all, she said, “This is a gift from your imperial mother to
you, let’s go to the imperial garden to fly it.”
“Mine?” Zhaoyang princess happily jumped up, wanting to
reach out to hold it but was a little afraid, turning her head she looked at
consort Shu, consort Shu repeatedly looked at Zhao Jin Yu’s gentle expression
several times, nevertheless she shook her head saying, “Princess, you’re still
young, flying a kite requires running around, it wouldn’t be good if you hurt
yourself.”
Zhao Jin Yu stepped forward to gently pat consort Shu on the
shoulder, in a kind of comforting way, she said, “Let’s go, it’s seldom the
child is happy, didn’t we also grow up like this? Did our parents stop us?”
Consort Shu saw Zhao Jin Yu’s sincerity and her heart moved,
bowing in respect she said, “Niangniang,
you don’t know, how much His Majesty dotes on Zhaoyang princess, he even asks
if she loses a single eyebrow hair.”
Zhao Jin Yu said, “It’s nothing, I’m here.”
Consort Shu suddenly looked at Zhao Jin Yu with some
adoration in her eyes, only thinking this new empress was really amazing, she
was actually not afraid of the emperor? When she saw the emperor she shook from
head to toe in fear.
Zhao Jin Yu naturally saw consort Shu’s thoughts, not
knowing whether to laugh or cry, thinking the emperor wasn’t a demon or
something…, why would she be so scared? At that moment of course she did not
know how there were more horrifying rumours in the palace than amongst the
common people, for example he would eat people and so on.
The three people went to the imperial garden together, even
though it was winter, the weather was however very nice, the winter sun was
different to the summertime warmth, gentle rays of light, shining on the body
it was as soft and silky like being gently petted by a child, Zhao Jin Yu made
Jin Yu go in front to raise the kite, then to the princess she said, “In a
moment Jin Yu will release the kite, you run forward, then the wind will make
the kite fly.”
“It’s that simple?” Zhaoyang princess was so excited her
little face was flushed red, her eyes glistening, Zhao Jin Yu couldn’t help
smile, saying, “It’s that easy, can the princess do it?”
“Of course I can.” Zhaoyang princess was afraid Zhao Jin Yu
would change her mind and not let her play, she loudly replied.
Zhao Jin Yu laughed nodding, turning to Jin Yu behind her
she waved her hands, Jin Yu following her orders raised the kite up high, Zhao
Jin Yu yelled, “Ready…run.”
With Zhao Jin Yu’s shout to run, Jin Yu released the kite,
and Zhaoyang princess growing wings like a little bird, cheerfully ran across
the ground.
The kite was driven by the wind, slowly rising up, in a mere
moment it floated into the air, two long tails swayed care-free in the wind,
like a drifting streamer.
Zhaoyang princess pulled on the string in her hands, crying
out loudly, “Fly! Hahaha.”
Consort Shu came over to wipe Zhaoyang princess’s sweat,
saying, “Princess, if you’re tired let the maid fly it for you.” She looked at
the beads of sweat across Zhaoyang princess’s face, she said deeply worried and
sick at heart.
Zhaoyang princess however turned a deaf ear, she simply did
not have the intention of letting go, instead she said in high spirits,
“Auntie, is my kite flying high?”
“High, very high.” Consort Shu watched the kite fly over the
ancient trees reaching high to the sky, up into the dark blue sky…, as if with
a little more movement it would fly out of these red cage like walls, she only
felt a kind of longing spout like soft shoots in spring, quickly growing
wildly.
The kite flew higher and higher, flying further and further,
like her heart.
Jin Yu walked over facing consort Shu with a butterfly kite
in her hand, she said, “Niangniang,
you should also fly one.”
“Me?” Consort Shu withdrew a little overcautious.
Jin Yu pointed behind consort Shu saying, “The empress is
also flying one, she’s flying a rabbit.” These kites had been created overnight
by the palace artisans.
Consort Shu lifting her head right away saw a little rabbit
kite hopping in the air, because its tail was short and small, so it lightly
swayed with the wind, like it would drop at any time…, yet it bizarrely
was
able to maintain its balance in the wind.
Consort Shu looked at the kite Jin Yu had placed into her
hand, her heart began to stir, she said, “Then I’ll try it?”
Jin Yu smiled nodding, she said, “This servant will raise
the kite for consort Shu.”
A moment later consort Shu was excitedly watching the
brightly-coloured butterfly soaring high in the dark blue sky…, tugging at its
very long tail, free and easy, completely unrestrained.
Consort Shu grew increasingly excited, she let out the
string, until the butterfly flew very high and very far, her heart also suspended
with it, can she fly outside?
All of a sudden, that kite seemed to lose its strength,
abruptly falling out from the sky…, consort
Shu’s heart also gradually sank
downwards.
An imperial bodyguard wearing armour picked up the kite
walking over, respectfully saying to Zhao Jin Yu, “This kite flew out of the
palace walls, this servant used a concealed weapon to take it down,
if you
attach a string to here it can still be flown.”
Zhao Jin Yu did not blame the imperial bodyguard, even
though he was a bit awkward doing this, but he had good intentions, afraid that
if the kite flew away they would have to search everywhere, 囧.
Jin Yu once again attached a string to it handing it to
consort Shu, consort Shu however had restrained her previous excitement,
deferentially she said, “I had better not fly it, I’m going to check on
Zhaoyang princess.” Looking unwilling to fly it.
Jin Yu was a little bewildered, just now she was so happy,
how can she be like this in a blink?
It was then, Zhaoyang princess suddenly yelled, “Ah, why
won’t it fly!”
Everyone ran over, this person helped Zhaoyang princess pull
on the string, that person stood to the side speaking impatiently, however
everyone’s efforts were pointless, Zhaoyang princess’s goldfish kite seemed to
have lost its wings, falling down directly.
Zhaoyang princess hugged the kite returned to her, pouting,
looking like she wanted to cry, she said, “Why did it fall down?”
Consort Shu comfortingly patted the back of Zhaoyang
princess’s hand, but all of a sudden her eyes widened greatly, she hurriedly
pulled open Zhaoyang princess’s hand, then saw the red line from the string,
her complexion changed, she said, “What happened to your hand?”
Zhao Jin Yu also saw it, she somewhat distressed said, “Your
hand is like that, why didn’t you say?” Having spoken she wanted to step
forward to look it over, however she was accidentally pushed to one side by
consort Shu.
Consort Shu’s expression was somewhat angry, she said, “I
told you before not to fly a kite, you just didn’t listen, if His Majesty sees
this, what’s to be done?”
Zhao Jin Yu could sense consort Shu’s abrupt dislike of her,
she lightly frowned.
Zhaoyang princess changed from her initial delight to a
deeply worried appearance, she blankly looked at consort Shu, rather at a loss,
she said, “Auntie, I was too happy, I’ve always wanted to fly a kite, but you
wouldn’t allow me.”
Consort Shu examined the red mark on Zhaoyang princess’s
hand, only feeling like the world was collapsing, shuddering she said, “If your
imperial father sees this…, quickly come back with me to ice your hand.” After
she pulled on Zhaoyang princess’s hand standing up, Zhaoyang princess because she
was unprepared, or maybe because consort Shu’s movement was too quick, she
staggered up, again very quickly because she was unsteady she fell to the
ground, however being practically pulled along by consort Shu she moved
forward.
“Auntie, it hurts.”
Consort Shu however seemed to be blind to the child’s
predicament, she continuously uttered, “Zhaoyang princess, quick come along.”
“Enough!” Zhao Jin Yu truly could not carry on watching, she
suddenly shouted.
Consort Shu’s mind seemed to rapidly clear, discovering Zhao
Jin Yu actually stood by her side, she kneeled with a plop, saying, “Empress, I
did not take care of Zhaoyang princess properly, punish me.”
“First let go of Zhaoyang princess.” Zhao Jin Yu’s face
showed intolerance, she said to nanny Li to her side, “Nanny, go call for the
imperial physician, we’ll go back first.”
Consort Shu seeing Zhao Jin Yu’s expression, her heart sank,
she only felt an indescribable fear rush into her mind, muddleheaded she was
taken back to Xihua palace, the
imperial physician came, saying it was only a little injury, the skin wasn’t
even broken, it would be fine after icing it a little.
Zhaoyang princess however was not willing, she stubbornly
stood, gaze unwavering on consort Shu,
she said, “Auntie, don’t be angry, I
won’t fly a kite in the future again.”
Consort Shu pursed her lips not speaking.
Zhaoyang princess’s eyes gradually saddened, almost sobbing,
she said, “Auntie, I admitted I was wrong is that not enough?” Afterwards she
wanted to tug on consort Shu’s sleeves coquettishly, however she was avoided by
consort Shu without batting an eyelid, she said, “Your Highness princess is an
imperial kinsman, how can you be wrong? Have pity on us bystanders who have to
be punished for you.”
Zhao Jin Yu’s complexion was unsightly, consort Shu clearly
was hinting at something.
At this moment the shout of an eunuch was heard from
outside, “His Majesty has arrived.”
The emperor was still wearing his bright yellow dragon robe,
wearing his jiulong crown,[1]
dignified and solemn, creating fear in those who saw him, but when he saw Zhao
Jin Yu in the crowd, his previous stiff expression softened, showing a gentle
smile like snow melting, he said to Zhao Jin Yu, “Quickly rise.”
Zhao Jin Yu was helped up by the emperor, she said, “Thank
you Your Majesty.”
The emperor seeing Zhao Jin Yu wearing a pinch-waisted wide
sleeves robe today, those beautiful curves were completely exposed, her bulging
chest, slim waist, and skirt like a blooming Chinese flowering crab-apple,
nothing more beautiful could simply be imagined, the emperor’s gaze was fixed
on Zhao Jin Yu’s waist…, recalling that soft feeling, his heart burned, gaze
becoming scorching right away.
Zhao Jin Yu was terribly embarrassed feeling such a gaze
from the emperor, the emperor’s gaze, shining laid bare his true longing, like
a ball of fire, with a little inattention it would have burned her.
“Your Majesty, I, your servant took consort Shu and Zhaoyang
princess to fly kites today.” Zhao Jin Yu heavily coughed once making the
emperor regain his composure, then holding Zhaoyang princess’s palm, she made
her unfold her palm in front of the emperor, “I was not paying attention,
causing her palm to be like this, swollen.”
Consort Shu shuddered looking at the emperor, she knew according
to the emperor’s temper he definitely would fly into a terrible rage at once,
then put all the blame on her, it was her fault…, hehehe, the more consort Shu
thought about it the more her heart froze, would the empress assume
responsibility? Of course she wouldn’t, the one who would always be punished in
the end was her.
Consort Shu tightly clenched her fists, her face deathly
grey.
It was then that consort Shu suddenly heard Zhaoyang
princess’s bell like laughter, she cutely yelled, “Imperial father it tickles.”
Consort Shu lifted her head quickly, seeing Zhaoyang princess who was pulling
on her hand restlessly just a moment ago now being held in the emperor’s arms, her palm spread
out in front of the emperor’s face, and the emperor blowing on her red palm.
It was evident this was the first time the emperor did such
a thing, seeming rather embarrassed, staring, he unceasingly blew on Zhaoyang
princess’s palm in an unfamiliar manner under Zhao JIn Yu’s urging.
Zhaoyang princess couldn’t help giggle, a teardrop hanging
from her little face, but her smile was nevertheless bright and beautiful.
Zhao Jin Yu said, “Your Majesty, when my hand swelled up as
a child, my father would also do this…” Zhao Jin Yu recalled her adoptive
father Zhao Chang Chun in the prison, she sighed sadly, saying, “See how happy
Zhaoyang princess is.”
The emperor felt he was being extremely childish, how could
he do such a thing? If your hand swelled then apply medicine, or ice it, why
would someone blow on it? What was the use? Btu ths was a request Zhao Jin Yu
made in front of so many people…, he felt this matter was beyond belief,
however he couldn’t not do it for Zhao Jin Yu’s sake, or later other people
would say she behaved inappropriately, carried away by his wishful thinking, he
wanted to spoil Zhao Jin Yu, make her happy, doing as she pleases.
Therefore the emperor forced himself to do it, who knew his
daughter who usually was scared of him to his surprise laughed in joy, he
looked at the pair of clear and penetrating bead like eyes, rosy little cheeks,
so soft-hearted he was in a complete shambles, holding his daughter’s hand ever
more gently, his blows were increasingly gentle, he said, “It won’t hurt if
imperial father blows on it.”
Zhaoyang princess was scared at the start, but she couldn’t
bear such tickling and giggled, after she saw the how imperial father looked at
her…, he wasn’t angry, and wasn’t disappointed, rather his eyes were filled
with love, like he could forgive all her misgivings, she suddenly felt her
heart warm, somewhat reluctant to take back her hand, wanting imperial father
to carry on blowing on it like this.
The few of them returned to the house, lunch had already
been arranged earlier on, Zhao Jin Yu nudged the emperor, the emperor then
knowingly said, “What happened today cannot be blamed on consort Shu.”
For the first time Zhaoyang princess was taken to eat by
imperial father, her mind found it slightly strange, but she was always worried
the emperor would punish consort Shu, now hearing the emperor’s words she
jumped up in joy, shaking off the emperor’s hand she walked to consort Shu,
saying, “Auntie, look, imperial father isn’t angry, you don’t need to be
afraid.”
Consort Shu looked at Zhaoyang princess somewhat
absent-mindedly.
Zhao Jin Yu coughed deeply once, saying, “Consort Shu,
you’ve brought Zhaoyang princess up very well.” After she gave the emperor a
meaningful glance, the emperor had just felt the loss of his daughter actually
leaving him and running off, it was the first time he held his daughter’s hand
like that, hearing Zhao Jin Yu’s words then did he regain his senses, saying,
“That’s right, we were a little negligent before.”
The emperor thought of the words Zhao Jin Yu had said to him
to one side, “Consort Shu entered the palace at thirteen years old, now she’s
merely eighteen years old, only older than me by a year, yet she brought
Zhaoyang princess up so well.”
“Isn’t that what she’s supposed to do?”
Zhao Jin Yu scowled, “Could Your Majesty raise a child at
thirteen years old?”
The emperor, “….”
“She’s already done very well, don’t reproach her.” Zhao Jin
Yu practically coaxed the emperor,
“Look at her, if Your Majesty is here she’s
so scared she doesn’t even dare to speak, how scared is she?”
The emperor thought to himself, being scared of us is right,
you think we are a good fortune cat raised in the palace? Can anyone just go
into a huff like you whenever you want, ignore the emperor as you want?
Of course the emperor did not dare to say such words to Zhao
Jin Yu, he said, “Then what do you want us to do? Look at how she raised
Zhaoyang princess, scared when he sees us.”
“Your Majesty if you really want Zhaoyang princess to be
unafraid of you, then don’t reprimand consort Shu with a sour face.” Zhao Jin
Yu looked clearly understanding, she said, “Zhaoyang princess cares about
consort Shu a lot, Your Majesty treat consort Shu well, Zhaoyang princess will
feel it.”
The emperor under Zhao Jin Yu’s urging smiled at consort Shu
with great difficulty, in the end scaring consort Shu so much she immediately
threw herself onto the floor, without a doubt it wasn’t the emperor’s smile
which scared people, in fact the emperor was called the number one handsome man
in the great Zhou, when he frowned people couldn’t help feel pity, when he
smiled it made people burst with joy, when he was angry it would make people
feel his angry appearance made him look like a handsome deity…, if it wasn’t
for the emperor’s ruthless reputation, the number of people who wanted to take
the initiative to be by the emperor side could surround the imperial palace
several times.
Consort Shu also didn’t think the emperor’s smile was
unsightly, rather the emperor in her eyes was an ice-cold ruthless lion…, if
you see a lion smiling at you gently, what would you do? Feel your blood run
cold? Terribly unsettled? That’s right, now consort Shu’s thoughts were like
this.
It was too scary! It wasn’t right, what was the emperor up
to?
Zhao Jin Yu did not think either that the emperor’s kind
smile would make consort Shu so scared, she glanced at the emperor, seeing him
immediately show an angry expression, she hurried forward saying, “Your
Majesty, I think consort Shu is not feeling so well today, why not get someone
to take her back to her palace.” Zhao Jin Yu finally realised, based on consort
Shu’s fear, there was no way for them to have a nice meal together.
Consort Shu hearing this was very grateful, hurriedly she
said, “I, your servant is somewhat unwell, I will return first, not be here to
hinder Your Majesty’s sight.”
The emperor, “…”
The sensitive Zhaoyang princess very quickly detected the
oppressive mood, she stood by consort Shu’s side, rather scared, and worried
pulling on consort Shu’s sleeve, a little pitiful appearance.
The emperor’s original anger disappeared on seeing Zhaoyang
princess’s expression, he recalled what Zhao Jin Yu had said, Zhaoyang princess
depended on consort Shu a lot, their relationship surpassed mother and daughter,
if you truly want Zhaoyang princess to be amiable you must firstly learn to
treat consort Shu well.
The emperor forcibly swallowed the punishing words, saying,
“Since consort Shu is unwell then return first.”
Consort Shu still thought according to the emperor’s former
temper, she would inevitably be punished today, because even she felt she
didn’t know how to appreciate favours very well, His Majesty’s was amiable to
her, in spite of everything she actually sprawled on the floor, it really was
too disrespectful, but who would have imagined this time the emperor
surprisingly did not punish her?
Consort Shu raised her head stumped for words to look at
Zhao Jin Yu smiling encouragingly beside the emperor.
At this moment…, consort Shu suddenly felt an ineffable
warmth rush to her heart.
Right now there was a new empress, and facing this new
empress, His Majesty the emperor seemed like a toothless tiger, so obedient,
and this new empress seemed to be a very good-natured and kind…, did this mean
her upcoming days will be different?
No longer needing to live her life trembling with fear?
Not be punished by the emperor for neglecting and not
looking after Zhaoyang princess well?
No need to again be afraid of being woken up in the morning
because Zhaoyang princess had a fever, or feeling ill be dragged out to be
flogged with a stick?
Zhao Jin Yu obviously saw the emotions on consort Shu’s
face, she let out a breath, thinking we’ve been going round in circles for so
long finally the tip of the iceberg could be considered pried open, it could be
thought of as making some headway, right now she couldn’t be forced.
By the time Zhaoyang princess and consort Shu had left, the
emperor was still not all together, holding his chopsticks he sat blankly for a
while, even though Zhao Jin Yu told herself to be generous, not to feel
ineffably jealous, but thinking that the person who just left was still an
imperial concubine of the emperor, a sour feeling rose in her heart, she looked
at the emperor out of the corner of her eyes, she said, “Did you hate to part
with your daughter or consort Shu?”
Actually over these few days Zhao Jin Yu had been perplexed,
she knew the emperor and her were inevitably going to be together, but she
nevertheless could not bear the emperor having so many imperial wives and
concubines.
As a result although she was rather selfish, but only if the
emperor was willing, she did not want to share him with other women at all…,
however she was prepared to treat them with an equal heart, give them a smooth
and steady life, amongst these people also included consort Shu.
Zhao Jin Yu also knew she was being quite headstrong, but
what’s to be done? She had always been unable to put up with another woman in a
relationship.
The emperor raising his head saw Zhao Jin Yu’s hazy gaze,
showing quite a bewildered expression, his heart jolted, reaching out he pulled
the other person into his arms, he pinched her chin, with a smile on his face
he sweet-talked her, “Our entire heart is filled with you right now, how can I
look at someone else?”
Zhao Jin Yu rather sulkily used her fists to beat the
emperor, saying, “Your Majesty means it won’t be in the future?”
The emperor helplessly smiled, but his eyes were filled with
adoration, he said, “Just now when the princess was here you were so generous,
how can you become such a jealous woman in a blink of an eye when there’s only
two of us?” The emperor finished speaking to discover Zhao Jin Yu’s complexion
was still as unsightly, recalling that maid’s overbearing desire for him, he
hastily said, “If we were fond of her we would have been fond of her earlier
on, why should I wait until now?”
Zhao Jin Yu still felt dissatisfied, making the emperor pull
out many promises, how he would only like you only from now on, in the future
he would only look at her alone…and so on, towards the end the emperor was
self-taught, carriage loads of sweet words were pulled out, like it did not
cost money.
By the time the emperor finally cajoled Zhao Jin Yu, the
food were cold, nanny Li called for people to reheat them, she had thought of
serving them…,but in the end she withdrew with a smile, as it turns out the
emperor actually held Zhao Jin Yu in his arms, while picking up food for Zhao
Jin Yu, now he fed her a mouthful of rice, delightfully taking care of her.
Nanny Li pushed the doors open leaving, the cold air hitting
her in the face, but her heart was actually nice and warm.
Zhao Jin Yu ate eight portions so full that she was unable
to eat any more, the two people sat nestled together on the kang under the window, the emperor’s
hands gently stroked Zhao Jin Yu’s waist, but his breathing was rather rushed…,
eyes burning intensely.
Zhao Jin Yu truthfully was unable to resist the emperor’s
gaze a little, being worn down by the emperor like this, there was no need to
wait until the crowning ceremony, she would be eating by the emperor down to
the bones.
In order to divert his attention, Zhao Jin Yu finished
saying what she couldn’t get out before, she said, “Why was Your Majesty distracted
just now?”
“Just now?” The emperor could only see Zhao Jin Yu right
now…, such a slim waist, such soft skin, wu…, holding her in his arms was as
comfortable as embracing soft candy, but he could only look and not eat, = . =
The emperor felt sadness fill his heart, was there such a
sullen emperor as him? However forcing himself on her and what not…, even if he
wasn’t willing to admit it, but he still really didn’t have the courage,
without doubt he would regret it even more.
The emperor was resigned to regain his charming and gentle
thoughts, he said, “We haven’t seen the princess so happy in such a long time.”
Zhao Jin Yu using her fingertips could imagine the way the
father and daughter interacted with each other, she said, “Since the princess
lost her mother in childhood, she’s sensitive and attentive, Your Majesty
shouldn’t always have a sour face, you need to be carefree in front of her,
slowly the princess will know Your Majesty care about her.”
The emperor turned his hand to hold Zhao Jin Yu’s hand,
saying, “When did we have such thoughts before…” The emperor closed his eyes,
his mind swimming with the horrified face of the empress dowager, cold thoughts,
muddleheaded every day, unclear of the past and present.
“Thank you.” The emperor lightly kissed the top of Zhao Jin
Yu’s head, he spoke with deep emotions.
Thanks so much for the chapter!
