"Wife, I am the baby’s father” 《娘子,我才是娃的爹》Chapter 71 Remember I Love You
Xin Ci nervously pushed aside the muslin curtain. Competing with Ming Zhu.
“Don’t, cousin-in-law. I’m very well.”
Xin Ci was so nervous she didn’t dare to let go of her own hands. The love bites on her body had still not faded, how could she come out looking like this?
Seeing the way Xin Ci was acting, Ming Zhu found it even more strange. Xin Ci usually doesn’t dawdle in bed, there must be a problem.
Xin Ci basically didn’t have any internal strength, how could she win against Ming Zhu. Not a moment later she lost.
“Heaven.”
Ming Zhu seeing the marks on Xin Ci’s neck and collarbone could not help crying out. Xin Ci used the opportunity to pull the quilt back. Her face was long ago red.
“Cousin-in-law, you…”
Ming Zhu shut her widened mouth, she was so happy she smiled.
Originally she wasn’t thinking of helping Wen Kai, seemed like Wen Kai has finally started to understand things properly.
Ming Zhu smiled sinisterly making Xin Ci uncertain whether it was good or bad. She could only deeply lower her head.
“Cousin-in-law, don’t laugh.”
Ming Zhu knew Xin Ci was shy, she silently held back her smile.
“Fine fine, I won’t laugh. Quickly tell cousin-in-law what happened?”
Seeing Ming Zhu’s twisted smile as she tried to stop herself from smiling, Xin Ci was actually more nervous.
How does she talk about such a thing?
Ming Zhu sat on the bed, taking Xin Ci’s hand.
“What can you not say to your cousin-in-law, come, tell cousin-in-law, if that Wen Kai bullied you, cousin-in-law will take care of him.”
Xin Ci hearing her tightly held Ming Zhu’s hand, speaking hurriedly.
“Cousin-in-law, no. It wasn’t Wen Kai, I…”
Ming Zhu raised her eyebrow, gently asking.
“You what?”
Xin Ci clenched her teeth, she told Ming Zhu what happened from start to end.
“Haha…”
Ming Zhu could not stop it, both hands clutching at her stomach.
She could not believe in the end she had helped that Wen Kai. How should Wen Kai thank her. Well, if she told her husband then she’ll be able to take even more credit, her husband would definitely be very happy.
At the same time Xin Ci had already used the quilt to cover her head, not letting Ming Zhu see her.
Who knew Ming Zhu would suddenly stand up, patting Xin Ci’s shoulder.
“You rest well, I’ll return first. Don’t need to get up.”
Ming Zhu turned her back on Xin Ci and laughed out loud as she left Lan Yun Pavilion. Leaving behind a red face, red ears Xin Ci.
Releasing the quilt in her hand, Xin Ci breathed in deeply. The air was filled with a type of fragrance, Xin Ci raised her hand gently to her lips. A happy smile on her face. Inside her head she head Wen Kai’s magnetic voice.
“Xin Ci, remember, I am Wen Kai. Remember I love you. Do not ever forget.”
Xin Ci looked outside the window, but her train of thoughts were already faraway.
“I will remember, I will never forget.”
T/N: Sorry guys that’s it for today…I’m so tired >_<
How is manipulating our girl in this way alright on any level?
It’s not. At all.
I don’t care if he loves her, she doesn’t have all the facts and the fact that that cousin in law thinks this is so great and hilarious pisses me off more because it’s a betrayal of the feelings our girl has towards the male mc that everyone was aware of. Everyone.
and it’s not like the original husband is dead, so if word got out guess whose reputation has just been ruined?
She’s just taking this as a big old matchmaking game in order to keep our girl away from her own cousin, who has already accepted xin ci won’t love him.
Anyways thank you for taking the time to translate this wonderful story. You have no idea how many times my heart was broken just because somebody stopped translating the novels (then again maybe you do). Too bad i can’t translate them myself.
Actually I think this kind of development isn’t that bad at all. Although I feel bad for our male mc, Wen Kai has also been struggling himself. “So near, yet so far” that kind of thing you know? I’m in it for the progression of the story and can’t wait to see how this turns out in the end. The more unpredictable, the better.
Ah but I’m not saying that I don’t get what you people mean by hating wen kai and ming zhu. Personally I experienced many of those while reading several different novels, mangas, etc. but as of I now I am just going with the flow (of the story)
